Dr. Beattie (Newsome c/o 2008)
Dr. Matthew Beattie was one of my first students I taught physics; he graduated from Newsome High School in 2008. He first became a chemical engineer, but returned to medical school to pursue his passion for helping people. He is a respected doctor at South Florida Baptist Hospital. He has treated my wife numerous times; always sympathetic and understanding of what she is going through**. Dr. Beattie gives us courage and great medical advice.
Officer F. Rosales (PCHS c/o 2013)
Officer Francisco Rosales graduated from PCHS in 2013. He went directly into the workforce as a concrete employee. Noticing that it was hard labor and low paying, he opted to join the police academy and enjoys his career as an officer for the Plant City Police Department. He is one of my first REALTOR(R) clients who will be part of the first student grants for college.

My motivations

**Seeing my spouse go through kidney failure, dialysis, and many medical procedures changed my perspective of how fragile we truly are, and how caring we need to be towards one another. There are many issues that come with this treatments such as anxiety, depression, and physical fatigue. I hope one day this reaches a donor of a kidney for her or someone else. She is A+ blood type. Living donors can call TGH at 813-844-5669. I pray for anyone fighting a chronic illness and their family. Have Faith and Hope and let God take control.
My second motivation is to leave a small foot sprint behind for others to follow. I was brought to the United States when I was 9yrs old, not knowing a word of English. It was difficult being the first-generation high school graduate bound for college not knowing exactly what careers were available to me or what success looks like. But I found in other teachers' guidance, care, and passion to get where I am today. I want to share some of that passion by helping first-generation students going to college or students in need. This will be my greatest accomplishment as a teacher to know I invested into someone making a better future for themselves and this community. It will make teaching worthwhile and make me feel fullfilled when I retire.
